Feeling depressed because you can’t afford a turbine motorcycle? Don’t despair, you can have a pulsejet bicycle instead. It may not be quite as impressive but if you tell folks you have a jet bike without giving them too many details, they’ll think you’re a real rocketman.
Robert Maddox builds pulsejet engines. Pulsejets, for those of you not up on your aviation history, were the power used by the infamous German V1 buzzbombs in WWII. The buzzbomb got its name from the buzzing sound of the pulsejet engine and the engines Bob builds, true to form, sound exactly like you would expect.
He’s selling the engines and the photo here shows one attached to a bicycle, though he’s attached them to go karts and all sorts of other things. This version puts out 50 to 60 pounds of thrust, enough for 75 mph or so on the bike but he builds bigger ones, too, up to 1000 pounds of thrust, for your larger projects.
He has some videos and it’s very cool how they glow red when running, you might want some heat protection on your pant legs but there’s a pretty high cool factor here. Experiment at your own risk.

Apa Itu Motor Injeksi??

Pada kendaraan roda dua atau motor, peranti yang bertugas menyiapkan gas pembakaran atau campuran udara dan bahan bakar adalah karburator. Sedangkan sistem injeksi bensin pada motor atau kita sebut motor injeksi tugasnya sama dengan karburator. Dengan kata lain, penyuplai campuran udara dan bahan bakar pada motor ada 2 macam yaitu bisa pakai sistem injeksi atau karburator.
Tetapi perlu diketahui bahwa antara karburator dengan sistem injeksi bensin memiliki prinsip kerja yang benar-benar berbeda. Boleh dibilang teknologi karburator sudah kuno sedangkan injeksi bensin yang diterapkan pada motor saat ini tergolong modern.
Mengapa harus pakai injeksi? Karena akhir-kahir ini tuntutan emisi gas buang pada motor harus bersih serta irit bensin. Dan tuntutan ini tidak mampu lagi dipenuhi hanya dengan mengandalkan karburator.Nah, untuk memenuhi tuntutan tadi maka sistem penyuplai bahan bakar pada motor harus diganti model injection alias motor injeksi tadi. Sebab motor injeksi dilengkapi komputer (electronic control unit/ECU) yang mampu menjamin perbandingan bensin dan udara selalu akurat di setiap putaran mesin.
Berikut ini merupakan persamaan tugas antara sistem injeksi bensin pada motor dengan model karburator :
1. Sama-sama mengatur volume udara yang masuk ke dalam silinder sesuai sudut buka katup gas (throttle valve) dan putaran mesin.
2. Sama-sama menyalurkan gas pembakaran yang tepat ke dalam silinder sesuai dengan volume udara yang masuk.
